About the House of Hope

The House of Hope of Madison County was founded in 1986 by Rev. Tom Sawyer and Will Carter.

We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and receive funding from the United Way of Madison County, Chemical People Task Force, and Emergency Shelter Grant funds through the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration. We also have contracts with the Marion and Battle Creek V.A. Centers.

We are licensed by the State of Indiana, Division of Mental Health and Addiction to provide transitional residential services. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, disability, national origin, age, or veteran status.

Our focus is to provide a safe, therapeutic environment for men who are new in recovery. We provide a structured program to assist them in establishing a foundation in recovery, learning self responsibility and relapse prevention. Our philosophy is based on the 12 Step program. Addiction counselors are certified. We accept most private insurance. Fees for noninsured are on a sliding scale.
